Lower Merion Football Players Heed the Red Cross S.O.S

On August 23, 2020, a seething hot Saturday, Varsity Coach Joe Augustine sent out an early morning group text to his football team and soon, seven players were there to deliver help to two American Red Cross Blood Drives held in Narberth.

Anyone who works, donates, or volunteers on behalf of blood drives contributes to the ongoing and unceasing national effort to save lives.

Every usable pint translates into saving two to three lives, for cancer patients, accident injuries, and victims of violence.
Providing help in Narberth has become a habit for Lower Merion gridders.
Last year, setting up the 2019 NarbEARTH Day added to their list of community service projects.
All involved in both the Saint Margaret Parish and Narberth Presbyterian Church blood drives expressed their heartfelt thanks to David Schaefer, Charlie Coyle, Paul Yang, Phil Cook, Jack Newcomb, Mekhai Smith, and Andrew Cook, all of whom gave up their first Saturday free of football workouts to help others.
