Teens Speak

Teens Speak was a Coalition event featuring members of the YAC.  Topics such as drugs and alcohol, peer and romantic relationships, technology, online image and body image were discussed.

Teens Speak:  "Expanding our view of what success means today"
with an introduction by Dr. Steve Treat of the Council for Relationships

The event was held on January 27, 2013 at Lower Merion High School and was free to members of our community.  The teens spoke about the following topics:

• Drugs and Alcohol •
• Peer and Romantic Relationships • 
• Technology, On-line Image and Body Image •

Teens Speak was presented by the Youth Advisory Council for the Coalition for Youth of Lower Merion and Narberth.  The YAC is made up of students from the following schools:  Baldwin, Agnes Irwin, Haverford, Barrack Academy, Friends' Central, Lower Merion High School, Harriton High School and Shipley.

  • Handling the Unexpected Consequences of Recovery Mon. 2 Mar, 2015 (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm) Partner Ann Smith, MS, LPC, LMFT is the Executive Director of Breakthrough at Caron and will present "Handling the Unexpected Consequences of Recovery" and discuss how our growth affects our relationships.
  • Speak Up! at Rosemont School of the Holy Child Wed. 4 Mar, 2015 (6:30 pm - 8:30 pm) Community Event Speak Up! provides a foundation for a lifetime of positive communication.  This is a Middle School program for 7th and 8th Graders.  Opening Topic is Stress -- other topics are Relationships and Trust.  Pre register online today at www.speakup.org or call 610-519-9600
